Oakland, Calif. – March 28, 2018: Family friendly Sundays are a significant part of Jack London Square’s schedule of free community events throughout the year. Every Sunday, Farmers Market offers fresh produce and artisanal food from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. The Buck is a new event providing easy access to local sellers offering unique items from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the first and third Sundays of the month.
“Jack London Square is the perfect location for families to come out on Sundays, enjoy the waterfront, and experience what’s good locally,” said Jack London Square’s events director Nick Cattaneo. “Oakland is growing its reputation as a city with creative entrepreneurs and the waterfront serves as a platform for some of these small, local vendors.”
The Buck features 30 vendors in a beautiful venue alongside the Oakland estuary to highlight their products twice a month. CUESA (the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture) is a non-profit that operates the Farmers Market with sellers offering fruits, vegetables, specialty foods, and flowers. Farmers Market includes cooking demos, tastings, and kids activities.
There are over 55 free public events a year at Jack London Square. Go here to see all of the activities at the Oakland waterfront.
