Oakland, Calif. – June 19, 2018: Waterfront Flicks at Jack London Square starts Thursday evening at sundown with a special Oakland A’s night. The event will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the baseball film, “The Sandlot.” Guests will be treated to swag, photo opportunities and fun activities provided by the Oakland A’s. Team mascot Stomper will be on hand from 5 pm to 7 pm. In January 2018, the A’s corporate headquarters relocated to Jack London Square.
“It’s wonderful to see hundreds of people come together at Jack London Square to enjoy our outdoor movie nights,” said Pam Kershaw, Port of Oakland Director of Commercial Real Estate. “The Oakland A’s home office is at the Square and their participation in our summer’s first Waterfront Flick will make it extra special.”
Waterfront Flicks is every other Thursday evening at 8 p.m. with pre-film, family-oriented activities on the Ferry Lawn. The free movies begin at sunset. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to set up lawn chairs and bring blankets. The Ferry Lawn is located next to the ferry dock at the foot of Clay Street in Jack London Square.

Many of Jack London Square’s eateries will be offering specials for Waterfront Flicks. Pets are welcome at all Jack London Square restaurants that have outdoor dining, year-round. Ben & Jerry’s will be selling ice creams, sweets and hot chocolate from their mobile cart.
