Palm Springs becomes the seventh Southern California destination that Southwest Airlines serves from OAK. Southwest carries more passengers within the State of California than any other airline. Oakland International Airport is home to Southwest’s largest California base flying from coast-to-coast across the U.S., including Hawaii. The flights to Palm Springs will be aboard Southwest’s fleet of full-size Boeing 737 jets.

“Palm Springs is an often requested yet unserved destination from the East Bay,” said Port of Oakland Director of Aviation Bryant L. Francis. “So, we’re especially pleased that the new service will allow over 4 million East Bay residents to use their home airport when they fly to Palm Springs.” He added, “We look forward to welcoming inbound visitors to OAK, the close-in, convenient and reliable gateway to all of the business, entertainment and tourism venues in the San Francisco Bay Area region.”
