Spirit adds daily nonstop between OAK and Newark Liberty Airport serving metropolitan New York City

EWR is the eighth destination now offered by Spirit Airlines at OAK

Oakland, Calif. – March 24, 2022: Spirit Airlines will fly nonstop between OAK and Newark/New York City (EWR) beginning August 10, 2022. The flight will be operated using Spirit’s new Airbus A320 NEO airliners that seat 182, including 8 Big Front seats.

Eastbound – Daily:      Depart OAK 8:10 AM - Arrive EWR 4:30 PM

Westbound – Daily:     Depart EWR 5:30 PM - Arrive OAK 8:40 PM

“We’re excited to provide Bay Area travelers more high-value options to travel to the East Coast with this new, nonstop route to Newark, said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines. “This is now Spirit’s second planned cross-country flight from Oakland, with non-stop service to Philadelphia starting in May. We appreciate our long-term partnership with OAK as we continue to grow our low-fare portfolio from the East Bay.”

Newark marks the eighth nonstop route that Spirit now offers at OAK. Others include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orange County, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, and San Diego.
