Oakland, CA - January 29, 2016: Super Bowl 50 is just around the corner, and Oakland International Airport is literally right in the middle of it all. The Bay Area is bubbling with excitement about hosting one of the world's most exciting sporting events, and is using the opportunity to show off the entire San Francisco Bay Area, with official events happening all over the region.

The Big Game will be played at Levi's Stadium in the city of Santa Clara on February 7, 2016, preceded by a weeklong series of public events held throughout the Bay Area.  The Super Bowl City fan village, the NFL Experience, and the Media Center will be hosted in San Francisco. OAK will be the number one destination for corporate jet traffic in the Bay Area. The FAA has designated an air traffic control "slot allocation system" to accommodate the expected increase around Super Bowl.

With the influx of air traffic, the Super Bowl is expected to be good for OAK as well as for the airport area businesses, particularly as it comes during a typically slower travel period of the year.

Transit Access and Ground Transportation at the Airport
The Airport offers great access to the events in San Francisco via BART, as well as game day access to Santa Clara via a BART connection at Coliseum to Amtrak's Capital Corridor line to the Great America Station near Levi Stadium.
