Oakland, Calif.- July 5, 2012 - Spirit Airlines announced today that it will launch new service between Oakland International Airport (OAK) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) on April 25, 2013.

"It is great news for travelers to and from the San Francisco Bay Area that there will be a truly low fare option for nonstop flights to Dallas-Fort Worth." said Deborah Ale Flint, Aviation Director for the Port of Oakland which owns and operates Oakland International Airport. "It is even better news for OAK in that the new nonstop will bring service to this large unserved market with convenient connections to Spirit's system beyond DFW."

Schedule for Spirit Airlines Oakland - Dallas-Fort Worth daily service, effective April 25, 2013:

Service To/From Departure Arrival
OAK to DFW 12:30am 6:00am
DFW to OAK 11:15pm 12:45am (next day)

Spirit will operate modern Airbus A320 series aircraft on the route. Flights will operate from OAK's Terminal 1.

Considered by many to be the most profitable airline in the United States, Spirit began serving OAK as its San Francisco Bay gateway on Aug. 18, 2011 with daily nonstops to Las Vegas. Spirit's new daily service will be OAK’s first nonstop flight to the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex.
