Oakland, Calif. – May 8, 2019: Jack London Square is hosting the new, MUSH concert series beginning tomorrow night on the Marina Lawn (across from 55 Harrison St.) from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The event is free, open to the public and dog friendly.

Community radio station BFF.fm is presenting the event as part of its effort to highlight the Bay Area music scene. The concerts are every other Thursday continuing through Sept. 19 (except for July 4th).

“The name MUSH is our tongue-in-cheek reference to Jack London’s sled dog-focused novel, ‘The Call of the Wild,’ but is also representative of the concert series as a whole,” said Amanda Guest, Founder and Station Manager of BFF.fm.

This bi-weekly celebration of local artists will feature four acts, comprised of sets from two DJs and two bands. Featured artists include Ah Mer Ah Su, Chaki the Funk Wizard, Ghost and the City, Maya Songbird, Samplelov, and Stephen Steinbrink.

Scheduled concerts are: May 9, May 23, June 6, June 20, July 18, Aug. 1, Aug. 15, Aug. 29, Sept. 5, and Sept. 19. Bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for comfort.

Transportation options to the Square include the Alameda/SF Bay Ferry, Amtrak, biking, walking and driving. For detailed directions to the Oakland waterfront, please go here.
