Oakland International Airport Offers Free Parking to Help Boost Travel Between Holidays

Depart Midweek and Park Free for Up to Three Days

Oakland, CA (Oct. 23, 2012) – Oakland International Airport (OAK) is brightening the outlook for travel during the holiday season with up to three days of free parking for passengers departing mid-week between Thanksgiving Day, November 22 and December 20, a $66.00 value. OAK already has nonstop flights to more destinations than ever before, with new nonstops to Palm Springs and Montrose/Telluride being added this Fall. With this new promotion, OAK hopes to further boost travel in support of the overall Port of Oakland’s contribution to the Bay Area.

”We’re pleased to once again offer our popular Free Parking promotion between Thanksgiving and the December holidays,” said Deborah Ale Flint, Director of Aviation for the Port of Oakland which owns and operates OAK. “We know as the year draws to a close there are travelers out there looking for an incentive to make that last business trip to So Cal, do some holiday shopping out of town, or even book a long weekend getaway to Hawaii. This program is a great incentive, and we invite everyone in the Bay Area to take advantage.”

This is the third time OAK has offered the Free Parking program and the second consecutive year it has been offered during the November to December time frame. It’s a great time for travelers to experience parking at OAK, the only truly on-airport parking.

Upon registering to print a coupon, passengers departing Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday starting on November 22 through December 20 will receive up to three days of free parking, a $66 value. The coupon is valid for parking in OAK’s Daily Lot, located directly across from the terminals, and is available for immediate download at oaklandairport.com/parkfree.

Customers interested in downloading the coupon can follow these steps:

  1. Register at oaklandairport.com/parkfree and print the parking coupon.
  2. Print the e-ticket receipt that shows a departure from OAK on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between November 22 and December 20.
  3. Park in OAK’s Daily Lot and pull a parking lot ticket when entering
  4. Present parking coupon, airline e-ticket receipt, driver license, and parking lot ticket to the attendant when exiting.

Passenger airlines offer more than 300 daily flights to destinations across the United States and Mexico, including four Hawaiian Islands. The “Park Free” offer provides another great reason to “Park Close and Fly On-time” at Oakland International Airport.
