Port of Oakland selects UC Berkeley exec to head IT unit

Oakland, Calif. – Nov. 14, 2018: A longtime University of California, Berkeley systems expert has been named IT Director at the Port of Oakland.  Kevin Fong, a 30-year veteran in systems management, joins the Port after 13 years at the university.  He most recently served as IT Director for University Development and Alumni Relations.

“Kevin’s expertise covers the gamut from systems infrastructure development to cloud computing,” said Port of Oakland Acting Executive Director Danny Wan.  “That background, coupled with his public-sector experience at a great university, makes him a good fit for the Port.”

Mr. Fong replaces Acting IT Director Kyle Mobley.  Mr. Mobley returns to his role as Aviation Information Technology Manager at Oakland International Airport.
