Oakland, Calif. – February 5, 2018: The Port of Oakland is recruiting for its 2018 Summer College Internship Program. Through a competitive process, students apply for paid internships in a variety of fields at the Port. Applications are being accepted through Friday, March 9, 2018.
“This program offers college students exposure to the day-to-day business activities at the Port and opens doors to potential career paths,” said Port of Oakland Director of Social Responsibility Amy Tharpe. “The goal is to support their professional development by exposing them to new learning, skills and networking opportunities, while also creating a fun experience,” added Ms. Tharpe.
The Port of Oakland 2018 Summer College Internship Program runs Monday, June 18, 2018 through Friday, August 17, 2018.
The Port is seeking 19 highly motivated students for paid internships in a variety of fields: Aviation, Aviation Communications, Aviation Planning and Development, Communications, Engineering, Environmental Programs and Planning, Governmental Affairs, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Risk Management, and Social Responsibility. Preferences will be given to those students who reside in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
The types of internship duties will vary from administrative to technical and project-based work.
