Oakland, CA: (June 9, 2020) – Oakland International Airport has launched a month-long broadcast media campaign intended to welcome travelers back following dramatic industry-wide declines caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Throughout the month of June, the campaign will air commercials on local Bay Area television, including spots on cable, local news, public television, and network programs, as well as paid targeted advertising on social media.
The Airport said the marketing campaign is part of a comprehensive effort which seeks to expand its partnership with East Bay EDA and Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group, with an intention to further develop business-to-business support to “Fly OAK First.”
Port of Oakland Director of Aviation, Bryant L. Francis said, “The Airport is proud to unveil this new business-to-consumer approach, reflecting on our 93-year history and the importance of our contribution to the local economy, captured in creative 30-second commercials. OAK continues to support those customers whose travel is essential during ongoing Shelter-in-Place orders, and we want those who’ve begun future trip planning to know OAK is prepared for their return when they are again ready to fly.”
Oakland International remains committed to ongoing efforts to address COVID-19 in compliance with federal, State, and local health guidelines. Numerous measures continue to be undertaken by our Terminal Services team to enhance and increase disinfecting and sanitization procedures throughout the terminal facility. These actions are in support of exceeding the expectations of our customers regarding our role in the air travel experience. Travelers are reminded that face-coverings are required inside our terminal facilities as well as onboard commercial flights until further notice.
