Thursday’s Waterfront Flicks features the film Spider-man into the Spider-verse at sundown on the Ferry Lawn near the foot of Clay Street. Pre-film festivities include small eats, trivia and giveaways. Moviegoers are encouraged to arrive early, pick out a favored spot and bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for comfort.
This Friday night, Live on the Square includes a free dance performance, lesson and party. A DJ plays music as early at 6 p.m. at the foot of Broadway. This night’s theme is Caribbean. Free Port Harbor Tours are also two Fridays a month. Sign-ups are booked for this Friday but sometimes standbys can be accommodated the day of the tour an hour in advance of departure.
Second Saturday features nearly 50 vendors with live entertainment and food giving the Oakland waterfront a friendly, neighborhood block party vibe. It’s open to all and free to attend.
Farmers Market customers directly connect with farmers and sellers offering fruits, vegetables, flowers and unique items. Free cooking demos are sometimes part of the event that happens every Sunday rain or shine.
The 90’s Experience, a new interactive pop-up, celebrates the iconic music and pop culture of that decade. It’s open every day at 54 Washington St. in Jack London Square. Tickets have timed entries and can only be purchased online.
