Jack London Square’s 4th of July Block Party to draw 10,000 visitors

Oakland, Calif. – July 2, 2019: Thousands of visitors are expected to come to Jack London Square for the 4th of July Block Party from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will feature multicultural programming across music, dance, art and food. Two kids’ zones will be part of the celebration that highlights East Bay diversity.

Oakhella, Youth Aid Non-Profit and Field of Verge Alliance are producing the event. Youth Aid Non-Profit is a charity organization that will benefit from Thursday’s activities. Admission is free; food, drink and souvenirs can be purchased.

Midtown Social, an R&B/Soul band, will headline the Fourth of July main stage on the Marina Lawn (between Webster and Harrison streets) at Jack London Square.

Youth performers will be at the Community Stage on the Ferry Lawn (foot of Clay Street). DJs OMG Prince and Young EllaBaker will also play on the stage at the foot of Broadway. Buskers will move through Jack London Square to entertain. The Port of Oakland will have a free photo booth.

Transportation options to the Square include the Alameda/SF Bay Ferry, Amtrak, biking, walking and driving. The free “B” Broadway shuttle runs Monday thru Friday, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. For directions to the Oakland waterfront and parking information, please go here.
