Oakland, Calif. – June 29 2018: Organizers expect more than 10,000 people to attend Jack London Square’s Fourth of July Block Party, Wednesday, from noon to 5 p.m. The Independence Day celebration includes live music, entertainment and specialty food trucks from local vendors. Admission is free and the event is family-friendly.

Attendees can expect a fun kids’ zone with games, arts and crafts, a “backyard” barbecue, beer/cider garden and shopping at the businesses along the Oakland waterfront.

The entertainment reflects diverse musical artistry with performances by Oakland based hip-hop artists The Corna Sto, Reggae artist Heartafiya and Afro-Latin Funk group Sang Matiz.

Jack London Square restaurants, including Belcampo, Dyafa, Kincaid’s, Lungomare and Scott’s Seafood, will be open. Some will offer specials throughout the day. Pets are welcome at all Jack London Square eateries that have outdoor dining.

There are more than 55 free public events at Jack London Square. Go here to see all the activities at the Oakland waterfront.
