Environmental stewardship is one of our major responsibilities as the trustee of Port of Oakland lands. We are going to zero-emissions at our seaport and airport. As a result, we have implemented dozens of innovative programs thanks to an array of partnerships and collaborations that work to identify, quantify, and meet environmental challenges. The environmental solutions that we use can be applied worldwide to help save energy, conserve natural resources and reduce our carbon footprint for future generations.

• The Port is going to zero-emissions operations at the Oakland Airport and Seaport
• We are replacing and modernizing electrical substations at the Seaport to provide reliable power for electric cargo-handling equipment
• The Port has installed electric charging stations for drayage trucks and is building more
• At OAK, our largest airline partner, Southwest Airlines, has started using sustainable aviation fuel
• Five battery-electric shuttle buses are coming to OAK
• The Port manages water resources to support commerce, wetlands, wildlife and thriving recreation
