The Port of Oakland contributes to the vitality of its surrounding communities through local workforce development, projects that protect the environment and improve air quality, supporting parks and public access along the shoreline for all to enjoy, and offering free community events at the Oakland waterfront. The Port’s Social Responsibility Division (SRD) facilitates inclusion, fairness, equity, as well as access to economic opportunities, programs, and services for local businesses and the community.
