Engineering On-Call Contract Instance of Work Opportunities
The Port of Oakland’s Engineering Services group manages On-Call Contracts that support various Aviation, Maritime, Utility, and Commercial Real Estate projects and activities. Engineering’s On-Call Contracts generally fall into two categories: On-Call Professional Services and On-Call Construction. Under On-Call Professional Service Contracts, work is issued through Technical Service Orders (TSOs). Under On-Call Construction Contracts, work is issued through Work Authorizations (WAs). Collectively, TSOs and WAs are referred to as On-Call Contract “instances of work”.
Prior to issuing an instance of work, Engineering may request qualifications or a proposal from an individual On-Call company or make the request of multiple On-Call companies through an Informal RFQ or Informal RFP. On- Call Contractors and Consultants are highly encouraged to include local hiring and small business utilization in bid proposals for successful award of any work.
