Stephanie Dominguez Walton

Commissioner Stephanie Dominguez Walton joined the Oakland Board of Port Commissioners in August 2023. She is a third-generation Californian and has lived in Oakland for more than 21 years.

Commissioner Dominguez Walton is the founder of Her Mano Group, an Oakland-based fundraising and advocacy firm serving mission-driven organizations. She is also President of the Board of the Voter Protection Project, which works to expand voting rights nationally by supporting candidates who champion voter equality. She has held development leadership roles at nonprofits across Oakland and served as Director of Development for the Latino Victory Project, a national organization building Latino political power at every level of government.

Commissioner Dominguez Walton is a steering committee member of the Latino Task Force of Oakland, which represents the Oakland Latino community through voice, advocacy, and leadership.

Commissioner Dominguez Walton comes to the Board of Port Commissioners with more than 30 years of experience in sales and fundraising, including more than 25 years in broadcast journalism and media sales. She ran for City Council to represent District One in 2020 on a platform of tackling homelessness, reimagining public safety, and advancing equity in education. She is a graduate of Emerge California, which trains Democratic women to run for elected office. Commissioner Dominguez Walton holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Pepperdine University.
