Oakland, Calif. – August 20, 2026: Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK) today welcomed Frontier Airlines’ return to Oakland with a celebratory inaugural event marking the launch of new nonstop service to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas (LAS). The airline’s return restores a popular travel option for Bay Area residents and visitors, strengthening connectivity between the Bay Area and one of the nation’s most sought-after leisure and entertainment destinations.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be back at OAK, providing new affordable flight options to tourists visiting the Bay Area as well as locals traveling to Las Vegas and beyond,” said Tyri Squyres, vice president of public and consumer affairs, Frontier Airlines. “With our growing network, young and fuel-efficient fleet, and premium upgrades – including First Class seats and high-speed connectivity with Starlink on the way – we look forward to welcoming consumers on board and showing them that travel can be both low cost and high value.”

“Frontier’s return is another positive step forward in expanding the choices available to Bay area travelers,” said Kristi McKenney, Executive Director at the Port of Oakland. “We are pleased to celebrate this inaugural flight and welcome Frontier back to OAK. This new service provides seamless, affordable access between Oakland and Las Vegas while supporting our commitment to offering a convenient travel experience and growing air service options for our community.”
