Cool Port

Summary: An advanced, temperature-controlled logistics facility for handling perishable cargo such as fresh meat and fruit.

Investment: Worth approximately $90 million.

Details: Local operator Dreisbach Enterprises and logistics specialist Lineage Logistics will construct the 280,000 square-foot refrigerated warehouse and distribution facility. Capacity of about 27,000 20-foot containers per year. Direct link to Union Pacific and BNSF railroads.

Benefits: Cool Port is dedicated to cold cargo and is located near the Port’s marine terminals, which lowers costs and speeds up cargo movement.

Status: Construction of Cool Port is underway and operations are expected to begin in summer 2018.
