Fly to Texas from OAK and Park Free

Oakland, CA – Jan. 12, 2015 – Bay Area residents planning travel to Texas for business or leisure can get up to $66 in free on-airport parking at Oakland International Airport (OAK) under the airport’s latest Park Free promotion.

Beginning January 15, travelers departing OAK on any airline to any destination in Texas can get up to three days’ free parking in the airport’s Daily Lot. In order to receive the discount, travelers must present a copy of their qualifying airline e-ticket itinerary, along with a Park Free coupon to a cashier upon exiting the airport lot. The printable Park Free coupon is available at OaklandAirport.com/ParkFree.

Seasonally low published fares available now add to potential savings for travelers planning a trip over the winter, including the Martin Luther King, President’s Day, Easter and Passover holiday periods as well as Spring Break.

OAK has a growing Texas flight schedule that includes new nonstops to Dallas Love Field launched January 6 by Southwest Airlines, in addition to its popular existing service to Austin and the Bay Area’s only nonstop flights to Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport offered twice daily. Dozens of connecting opportunities to other destinations in Texas are also available.

Southwest Airlines flies only full size 737 jets to all of the major Texas destinations, offering a robust array of onboard entertainment over the world’s largest satellite-based WiFi system. Free live and on-demand television, movies and music are available on all Wi-Fi equipped aircraft. Flights, fares and ticketing are available online at Southwest.com.

Spirit Airlines flies daily from OAK to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Spirit operates 178-seat Airbus 320 aircraft on the route and offers a unique ala carte air travel experience with products such as “Big Seat Up Front,” its affordable upgrade to first class-sized seating. Flights, fares and ticketing are available online at Spirit.com.

Other airlines offering direct or connecting service from OAK to Texas include American Airlines/US Airways (AA.com or USAirways.com) and Delta Air Lines (delta.com).

Year-Round Parking Programs
Ample parking within short walking distance of passenger terminals is always available at OAK, and the airport offers money-saving promotions year-round through a variety of programs.

In addition to this winter’s Park Free promotion, OAK is offering travelers to any destination $4.00 off the daily rate for parking in its Economy lot or $8.00 off per day in its Premier, Hourly and Daily lots. Frequent travelers can get a day of free Daily lot parking with the purchase of three days at regular rates by using OAK’s Frequent Parker program. Businesses can save $10 off daily rates for Premier, Hourly or Daily lots by registering in the OAK Corporate Parker program.

Details, requirements and registration for OAK’s parking programs are available at OaklandAirport.com/parking.
