Port of Oakland Announces Strategic Hire - Assistant Director of Aviation for Oakland International Airport

Marily Mora Brings Significant Airport and Management Experience to the Position

Marily MoraOakland, Calif. (Nov. 29, 2011) – The Port of Oakland has hired Marily Mora as Assistant Director of Aviation for Oakland International Airport (OAK). Ms. Mora joined OAK on Nov. 28, 2011. (Photo attached).

As Assistant Director of Aviation, Ms. Mora is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the airport with direct responsibility for the Airside, Landside, Security, Administration, and Facilities departments.

“Marily’s extensive experience in the aviation industry will play a vital role over the next several years as she and the airport team deliver innovation and excellence in customer service, safety, and security, all of which are core to OAK's business,” said Deborah Ale Flint, Director of Aviation for the Port of Oakland, which owns and operates the airport. "Marily will be instrumental in leading a high-performing operation in support of the Port’s Strategic Plan initiatives around workforce and operations,” Ale Flint added.

Ms. Mora has been the Executive Vice President and COO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority for the past 12 years. Prior to Reno-Tahoe, she worked at Mineta San José International Airport for 11 years as Deputy Director of Business Development. During her 35-year career, she has held management positions at Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority and in the gas and electric utility business in Denver. She also has served as a writer and editor for a travel industry trade publication in San Francisco.

Ms. Mora holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and is a graduate of the University of California-Davis with a B.A. in International Relations. She is an Accredited Airport Executive with American Association of Airport Executives.
