  FAQ
When are the Harbor Tours available?
Every year the Port of Oakland offers the public a rare glimpse of its maritime operations. This fun and free tour is offered May through October on the Third Thursdays of the month. The tours are an excellent opportunity to learn about the Port of Oakland's past, present and future. Learn about our expansion plans and how they will benefit the region. Passengers will also get a chance to see the giant cranes that were delivered to the Port of Oakland October 2000.
Each narrated tour lasts about one hour (1hr) and travels around the Oakland inner/outer harbor. This bird's eye view of the Port of Oakland is available during the late spring, summer, and early fall months. Individuals and groups of up to 50 are invited to reserve space aboard the vessels. School groups of 4th-graders and below are welcome to reserve space. However, one chaperone per 4 students in grades 4 and under is required. View the 2007 Harbor Tour Schedule and make your reservation online or call the Port of Oakland Harbor Tour Hotline at (510) 627-1188 for more information. Reservations will begin in April 2007.
How do I dock my boat?
First come, first served four hour docking is available behind Scott's Restaurant. Overnight slips are $20 and up per night, depending on vessel size. Reservations must be made in advance for an overnight stay. For reservations, permanent berth slips, and additional information call (800) 675-DOCK (3625).
