The Port and the City of San Leandro entered into a Settlement Agreement on 11/7/2000, which provided for funding by the Port for a Sound insulation Program (SIP) for noise mitigation of 200 homes in San Leandro. The time period in the agreement for completion of these homes expired October 8, 2008. Since then, Port staff has been working with the City of San Leandro toward an amendment of the Agreement to provide funding for the completion of the SIP in a manner that is acceptable to both parties. A status update on the progress of these negotiations will be provided.

    5. Airport Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) Service Interruption for Maintenance.

The Port has received notice from the FAA, that during the next few months, the FAA will take the ILS for Runways 29 and 27L out of service in order to complete needed replacement of system facilities. The Airport's Airside Operations Department is carefully coordinating the operational and noise impacts that may occur from the interruption of service to these facilities, particularly when the Rwy 29 ILS is unavailable, which could result in some landings by air carrier aircraft on North Field.
