In addition to listing job opportunities working directly for the
Port of Oakland, we also list job categories available through the
Port's Employment Resources Development Program (ERDP).
The ERDP is a support service for Port tenants
and employment service providers. ERDP was established by the Oakland
Board of Port Commissioners to assist Port tenants with meeting
their employment needs. The ERDP staff may serve as consultants
to Port tenants to conduct skill assessments, task analysis, planning
of training programs and identification of key persons to develop
such programs.
One of the chief priorities is to recruit and
screen applicants from a pool of qualified job seekers. To ensure
this, the ERDP job counselors pre-screen applicants in order to
save the tenants both time and money. From this pool of applicants,
the most qualified applicants are selected to interview with Port
of Oakland tenants.
