About the Community & Customer Relations Department
The Community and Customer Relations department is responsible for defining, developing, and administering cost-effective programs in support of those Port projects that are most critical to the Port’s mission, goals and objectives as it relates to both internal and external customers and stakeholders. The department plans and implements community education and outreach programs through a series of “good neighbor” activities (i.e., Good Neighbor Breakfast, PORTalk-Speakers Bureau, Harbor Tours, PORTkids – Our Link to the World, Mack at Sea, and Public Art programs). The department also facilitates and administers the Port’s Customer Focus program in an effort to work with the Port Revenue Divisions to support the Port’s goal to “consider our customers and stakeholders first.” This department also works closely with the Social Responsibility Division as it relates to community relations and social equity. All functions are designed to increase public awareness and understanding of the Port, its projects and policies, and to promote overall goodwill.
The Community and Customer Relations department is one of three departments within the Port's Public Affairs Division and is a member of the External Affairs Branch.
