This successful town hall meeting accomplished several objectives that
benefited both the public and the Port. The forum:
- Provided community residents with a chance to express their thoughts
about maritime expansion.
- Provided updates on waterfront projects and issues that directly affect
the West Oakland community.
- Introduced the Port of Oakland and its activities to those who
have had little or no previous contact with the Port.
After the forum, we provided round-trip shuttles to Jack London Square,
where participants boarded comfortable, open-decked ferries for a free
narrated harbor tour and lunch.
As part of our Good Neighbor Policy, we'll continue to inform and educate
our local communities about the Port's activities.
