		Maritime Air Quality Improvement Plan (MAQIP) The Port of Oakland, in partnership with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, and maritime industry representation has engaged in a planning process for the development of a Maritime Air Quality Improvement Plan. 		Port of Oakland Shore Power Initiative By May 10, 2010, the Port of Oakland will submit its application for Proposition 1B monies to fund land-side shore power at the Port of Oakland. Shore power provides electrical infrastructure so that ships can plug into the power grid and turn off their diesel fueled auxiliary engines while docked at the Port of Oakland. More Info.
