IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS TO PORT BIDDERS

• Web Accessed Monitoring System (WAMS)
  The Port of Oakland has adopted an electronic monitoring system to satisfy certain reporting requirements  (including prevailing wages, construction workforce and business utilization), and has designated a vendor for said electronic submission system.  Contract awardees for Port public works projects will be required to utilize WAMS; bidders should therefore include in their bids all costs associated with accessing the system.  To download a listing of the fees charged by the Port’s WAMS vendor, please click here [Posted August 11, 2006.]
  
  
• Preference Points
  Effective June 6, 2006, the Board of Port Commissioners approved changes to the Non-Discrimination and Small/Local Business Utilization Policy.  These changes will affect how the Port will allocate preference points to determine the lowest responsible bidder on its contracts.  Document 00810 of the Project Manual, where the changes are housed, will replace Document 00810 in the Port of Oakland Standard Contract Provisions.  If you have any questions, please contact Bendu Jallah-Griffin at bgriffin@portoakland.com.
